Saints Peter and Paul’s Parish Pastoral Council
The Saints Peter and Paul’s Parish Council held its first meeting following the Covid-19 global pandemic on 7th October 2021. Rooted in paragraph 37 of the Second Vatican Council’s Constitution on the Church, Lumen Gentium, and Canons 208, 212 and 536 of the 1983 Code of Canon Law, the mission of the Parish Pastoral Council is to assist the parish clergy in fostering pastoral activity in a parish.
Values guiding realisation of the mission of the Parish Pastoral Council are the true equality of all of the Christian faithful in action aimed at building up the Body of Christ and recognition of the right – and even at times the duty – of each member of the Christian faithful freely and with confidence to make known to pastors of the Church their opinion on matters that concern the good of the Church.
The present Saints Peter and Paul’s Pastoral Council is made up of 15 members of the faithful representative of the wide range of pastoral activity of the parish. The present Council’s term of office extends until June 2024 and it meets eight times a year. Its Chairperson is Ms. Anna Garcia-Garriga, the Secretary is Mrs Eimear Walsh-Supplisson and the Contact Officer is Mr Patrick O’Riordan. The President of the Pastoral Council is Fr Patrick McCarthy, Parish Priest of Saints Peter and Paul’s.
